Derek focuses on the present soybean harvest with the continued help of his uncle and his retired, but restless, dad, left. Derek hopes to continue working the land for decades, regardless of what the farm’s future holds.

People gather as early as three in the morning to start drinking and to get good seats for boat races which take place in the afternoon and are a competition between different schools on campus. A family in the ecovillage of Andelssamfundet i Hjortshøj spend their afternoon together after the kids came home from school. The local government is hoping to remove the village’s farmland to build houses on it, and the newer generations in the ecovilla

Ella is one of the kids in the new generation growing up in the ecovillage, and she may be one of the last to experience the farming aspect of the community. The local government is hoping to remove the village’s farmland to build houses on it, and the newer generations in the ecovillage will miss a critical part of the community by not having the chance to participate in the communal farming if the government goes through with its plan.
