On Saturday afternoons in Columbia, Mo., those who find themselves between campus and the keyhole in front of city hall can hear shouts coming down the street:
"Free, free Palestine. . . "
Since the start of the Israel-Hamas war last October, the most recent conflict in a history of conflicts between Israel and Palestinians, people around Mid-Missouri have increasingly become passionate about their beliefs on the issue.
Palestine supporters have taken to the streets protesting, Israeli supporters have hosted vigils.
This project looks back at community reactions over the year since the Hamas attack on October 7. Through portraits contextualized with event coverage, this on-going picture essay brings to light the views of those impacted directly by the Israel/Palestine Conflict in mid-Missouri.
